Change the denominators of the fractions by multiplying both, the numerator and denominator

1. make the numbers mixed numbers by multiplying the whole number by the numerator and adding it with the denominator. For the denominator of the fraction, it stays the same as in the original fraction

2. you then find a common denominator and subtract the way you would a normal fraction
