3 is multiplied to x and 1 so (3x+3)
now you multiply the -2 to x and 4 so you get (-2x+2)-4
now i would put x to one side so
3x+3=(-2x+2)-4
+2x      +2x
5x+3=2-4
= 5x+3=-2
now you get the numbers alone
5x+3=-2
   -3    -3
5x=-5
now divide both by 5
x= -1

3(x+1)= -2(x-1)-4: Simplify the equation

3x+3 = -2x+2-4: Go to next step ( You don't really need this one)

3x+3= -2x-2; Subtract 3 from each side

3x = -2x -5; add 2x to each side

5x = -5: divide by 5 from each side

x = -1
